9:00 am – 11: am Join the 2019 Feast of Lanterns Royal Court at the Pacific Grove High School Track and Field for a Royal Run and Pancake Breakfast. This fun run is a celebration of health and community. The Pancake Breakfast is served by Kiwanis Club of Pacific Grove.

Tickets for the pancake breakfast are $5 each. Tickets are available at Pacific Grove Travel, 593 Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove and at the PG Farmers Market in July.

General Rules for the Feast of Décor:

Enter the Feast of Decor by Decorating your home or business for the Feast of Lanterns! To participate in the Feast of Décor Contest, applicants are welcome to submit their name, phone number and address (photo optional) to Board of Directors (k.coleman@feast-of-lanterns.org), mail to PO Box 809 Pacific Grove, CA 93950 or https://www.facebook.com/feastoflanternspacificgrovestradition

You must formally apply by July 15, 2019 at midnight to be considered for the Feast of Décor House Decorating Contest. Judging by the Royal Court will take place on July 16, 2019.

There will be 1 award representing the whole 2019 Royal Court and 5 jewel awards given out: Topaz, Ruby, Amethyst, Pearl and Emerald. There is one set of 6 awards for homes and one set of 6 awards for businesses. The current Royal Court will judge the applicants and awards the prizes.

The winning houses and businesses for the Feast of Décor will be featured in a special album on this website and will be shared on our Facebook pages.

Thank you to everyone in the community who gets into the Feast of Lanterns spirit and decorates their homes and businesses!

5:00 - 6:30 pm at Chautauqua Hall in downtown Pacific Grove, CA.

There will be a Facebook live stream of this event! Entertainment by the Monarch Handbells, Rockstar Dance Studio, and the 2019 Royal Court. Mayor Bill Peak and Queen Topaz cut celebration cakes as we sing happy birthday to our beloved hometown. The Board of Directors invites everyone to join in as we celebrate the Feast of Lanterns and the Chautauqua Assembly. This I event is FREE and open to the public.

2:00 pm at Caledonia Park in downtown Pacific Grove, CA.
The parade starts at 2:30pm.

Dress up your favorite pet or stuff animal and join the Pet Parade. The public is invited to dress in costumes that represent your culture or family heritage. This will help us to celebrate our theme of "Lanterns From All Nations Make A Brighter World." The 2019 Royal Court will hand out ribbons to everyone in the parade and ride in the antique fire truck to lead the parade. The event will open 30 minutes early at 1:30 pm for families that have kids with special needs so that they can interact with Queen Topaz and the Princesses. Directly following the parade, the PG Recreation Department staff hands out ice cream treats for all the participants.

2:00 - 3:00 pm at Caledonia Park in downtown Pacific Grove, CA.

Directly following the Pet Parade will be the Feast of Dancing. The public is invited to dress in costumes that represent your culture or family heritage. This will help us to celebrate our theme of "Lanterns From All Nations Make A Brighter World." The 2019 Royal Court will be dancing with everyone! DJ Bret spins a hometown dance party!

Feast Day at Lovers Point Park

  • 10:00 am - 10:00 pm - Food Court - Ocean View Boulevard (Food vendors wishing to participate, visit our Partners/Vendors page for more information.)
  • 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm - Yoga with the Royal Court on the Grassy Area - Please bring your own mat.
  • 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm - Sand Castle Contest (judged at 2:30pm and announced at 3:00pm) - Beach
  • 1:00 pm - 7:30 pm - Lantern Sales - Pier Entrance
  • 2:30 pm - 8:00 pm - Pier Entertainment.

The Feast of Lanterns Pageant will be the official closing ceremony as it was for the first Chautauqua Assembly, 1905.
